Google Reader is the New FriendFeed

This picture tries to show what features are the same on Google Reader and Friendfeed.

Maybe this can help all FriendFeed users to switch to the New Friendfeed: Google Reader?

Please spread this as much as you can!

FriendFeed's Not Dead - Yes it is!

But in the days following, from what I've seen and heard, it is clear to me that FriendFeed is not going away, that the company's being part of Facebook isn't the end of the world, and that after nearly two years of going it alone, the time had come to make a change.

I'm sorry to say this Louis, but I think Friendfeed is dead. I think Friendfeeds future is very cloudy to say the least. But here is a light in the sky and that's Google Reader, and Google Reader will not go away, that's for sure. The problem is that the FriendFeed users don't get it. Google Reader has almost identical features to friendfeed, well most of them. Friendfeed still has some cool features that I miss, like embedding threads, permalinks and some more, but Google Reader already have a "Home Feed" and a "User Friendfeed" where all thing we share are visible. We can like items, we can comment on items and we can share them with others. Google Reader IS the new friendfeed.

Here is more about Facebook Buing FriendFeed

BREAKING: Facebook Acquires FriendFeed
http://mashable.com/2009/08/10/facebook-acquires-friendfeed/

Huge news in the world of social media today: Facebook has acquired online activity aggregator FriendFeed. According to the release, “all FriendFeed employees will join Facebook and FriendFeed’s four founders will hold senior roles on Facebook’s engineering and product teams.”

- is this a way to compete anymore with Twitter? Twitter is very tightly integrated with friendfeed. Will that continue?

If not friendfeed is dead.

I am a very active friendfeed user (http://friendfeed.com/svartling ) & i'm feeling very worried.

Also, it seems that Facebook only wants the very talented friendfeed developers. So what will happen with friendfeed development?

How to add a friendfeed widget in the Posterous sidebar

Image representing Posterous as depicted in Cr...

Image via CrunchBase

Actually you can have widgets/embeds on the side of your Posterous.
Mine is a picture! An active picture made from a FriendFeed widget. Go to friendfeed tools and choose a widget you want but instead of javascript choose image.

Go here on friendfeed: http://friendfeed.com/embed/widget  - Instead of Javascript, choose image. Then you get the code to put in your posterous profile..

Posterous don't allow javascript but almost any other HTML, so you can use other widgets too. For example the Twitter counter I have.
Is there a particular width, or should we go with the default? In the posterous sidebar you should use 200 pixel width

Everything you put in your Posterous profile is visible in the sidebar, so the code from the friendfeed widget must be posted there.

I hope this helps.
