FriendFeed's Not Dead - Yes it is!

But in the days following, from what I've seen and heard, it is clear to me that FriendFeed is not going away, that the company's being part of Facebook isn't the end of the world, and that after nearly two years of going it alone, the time had come to make a change.

I'm sorry to say this Louis, but I think Friendfeed is dead. I think Friendfeeds future is very cloudy to say the least. But here is a light in the sky and that's Google Reader, and Google Reader will not go away, that's for sure. The problem is that the FriendFeed users don't get it. Google Reader has almost identical features to friendfeed, well most of them. Friendfeed still has some cool features that I miss, like embedding threads, permalinks and some more, but Google Reader already have a "Home Feed" and a "User Friendfeed" where all thing we share are visible. We can like items, we can comment on items and we can share them with others. Google Reader IS the new friendfeed.

@czarphanguye Yes Posterous is really cool! It has replaced all my blogs now. I have completely moved over to the combination Greader+Twitter+Posterous instead of Friendfeed. Oh and thanks for subscribing!

that's an interesting idea. do you subscribe to your notification feeds and etc ( for social networks)? or are you expecting google reader to add features like friendfeed had for our networks in the future?

Matthew: Google Reader already has those features that Friendfeed has. You only need to know how to use it. Check My comment above that links to an image that explains how to use it. Frindfeed is still better for aggregating all your other services to one stream, but that is possible too of course, Google Reader is an Aggregator :)
